Window Treatments Part 1

A month ago, I was contacted by a friend to see if I would be interested in having a guest post on window treatments in apartments.  I thought it would be interesting to see since we will be moving into a loft, so once a week for the next five weeks I will be featuring 'Incredible Window Treatments for Apartments'. Enjoy!

Your windows are something you look at and through, which means they can provide an interesting challenge when you want to start decorating your apartment. You could, for example, ignore them, because windows are for looking through, which means there's no reason to obstruct that view. On the other hand, there are actually a number of window treatments that can accentuate the look of your apartment and make them really nice to look at.

There have been a number of changing trends in window treatments and designs, and there are a wide range of materials and designs that can help you add something a little unique and interesting to your apartment (and still maintain all the visibility you want).

1. Organic Materials/Natural Woven Shades
If you would like to add something with a natural look, or you prefer to use materials from renewable resources, there are a lot of organic materials that make great shades, blinds and plantation shutters. You can use different colors of wood with exposed wood grains, and even get some shades with grassy accents woven in. You can bring a little of the outdoors inside with these window treatments.

Here are few pictures that I found to go along with the post...
